DIY – Seriously!

You know, with the busy life I have of partying and dating youngins, I really don’t have a whole lotta time to do much else…JK, JK which according to my grand daughter is the abbreviation for joking.

Recently I’ve taken up DIY – I’m starting with my bathroom and let me tell you it isn’t a one day project.  I’ve already put in two weekends and it still isn’t finished.  I must admit I am a bit of a perfectionist and I’m making sure every nook and cranny is fixed, cleaned, painted, etc…

Since I moved into this house I rent, it’s been a bit hard to upkeep.  When I fell this summer and broke/dislocated my wrist I was in the process of spring cleaning.

Between maintaining two floors and the front and backyard I am a bit overwhelmed but I can only do the best I can and from now until the spring I will be tackling different areas of the house.  My goal is two hallways (upstairs & downstairs), the bathroom which I’m in the process of completing and my bedroom.

This was my bathroom in the beginning stages

Here is  a video of me last weekend showing my progress with the first reno….

Gail’s DIY – Bathroom

I strongly believe if you get the benefit of living somewhere, it isn’t all about the landlord fixing things, sometimes it can be fun and rewarding doing the work.

It’s amazing the small things you can do like paint, buy wall fixtures, replace the toilet seat, shower curtains and shower heads and much much more.  It doesn’t have to be costly but let’s face it I’m certainly not going to spend my money on a boy toy bwahahaha.

The only downside is the pain, after working on this for a few hours I need to rest, the #fibromyalgia just doesn’t ease up.  But I work around it.  There is an absolute satisfaction in doing it yourself.

I’m challenging myself and it feels great.  I can’t wait to show you the reveal, probably next week.

  1. Gail, I look forward to the reveal… I have been away from blogging for quite some time… I am glad to be back. I missed writing and interacting with everyone. I have been living in my rented place for 8+ years and never did anything to make it homey… I finally decided I will be staying her and with a friends help, I have been fixing up each room… it is really feeling like home. I wish you success with your place, it really helps xox
