I am super busy these days with the DIY in my washroom , my regular 9-5 job and the volunteer work I’m involved in. I’m not complaining, don’t get me wrong, quite the opposite, I love it!!!
By the way if you are feeling the love and you would like to donate to this wonderful charity that helps young pregnant women and parenting teens I would say you are Amazing! I know there are tons of great charities but I’m partial to this one, I was a Teen Mom and I can guarantee you that you won’t regret helping out.

They usually have a holiday sale to fund raise but unfortunately it was not possible this year so every little bit helps :))
Food is still at the forefront although through the holidays I’m focused on maintenance as opposed to weigh loss but I am still making all the efforts of staying clear of dairy, carbs and sugar. I had a bit of Chinese food on the weekend and spent a lot of time in my newly renovated washroom, I got busy and decided to order out instead of cooking…big mistake :))
After the holidays, I can kick exercise and a strict food plan into high gear again. So far I am 30 lbs down so I am not about to let it go back up any time soon. I’ve got this :)))
Now about the DIY, I would be lying if I said I did it all by myself. That was my intention however it turns out I’m not that great at caulking and painting trims – so I got some help with that from a great friend. I am also not super knowledgeable about toilets so again another friend took care of installing the new seat and adding some covers at the bottom to hide the screws.
The decoration above my mirror was spray painted – you can use spray paint on plastic. The picture frame was on hand and I simply got a calendar image for the frame. It matches the color of my decor 🙂
I still have a few things to do (scrub the floor tiles, find another solution to the cracks in the wall tiles, find something creative to hide where the old shelf was) but overall I can say I am pleasantly pleased with the results.
After watching the video, if you have a creative way I can cover up where the shelf was, don’t hesitate to comment and share your tip. One idea I had is using 3D wallpaper like this-
The full renovation was under $250 including decor, cleaning products and tools.
I must say, this new side of me isn’t so bad. I miss the dancing and the partying a wee bit but I’ve quite enjoyed doing the washroom and I think I’m going to tackle the upstairs and downstairs hallways next.
There is a real sense of accomplishment in DIY :)) It’s overwhelming at first and if you think it is going to be a quick job then don’t do it. This took me 3 weekends. Well worth it in the end :)))
