Hey I haven’t written a post in a while and all I can say is I’m so excited!
It’s been a while since I’ve had that butterfly feeling in my gut that you get when you are super happy and can’t contain yourself – When it comes to creating @TheGailYoungShow #TGYSCanada that is how I feel ahhhhhhh!!!!
Recently I found out my spirit animal was a butterfly – If you want to take the quiz to find out yours here is the link: Spirit Animal Quiz
I was upset at first, I wanted to be something more majestic like a wolf but it makes sense that I would be a colourful creature and flighty LOL.
“I feel like I’ve spent a large part of my life trying to grow wings and finally accomplishing what I wanted to do and be who I wanted to be.
Fun Fact – Butterflies go through 4 stages: egg, larva, pupa and adult. Each stage has a different goal – for instance, caterpillars need to eat a lot (teenagers), and adults need to reproduce a lot (wink, wink) since they only live for 2 to 6 weeks.
Currently I am taking a Public Speaking 8 week course @SecondCity to get really comfortable in front of an audience and my homework is to introduce myself and I thought it might be a good idea to give you more tidbits about ME.
When I was 3 years I would sit outside my house for hours and fantasize about two mice puppets from a French TV show called Nic & Pic on @RadioCanada to come and pick me up with their hot air balloon, I really wanted to travel and spread my wings 🙂
At the age of 8 I was busy interviewing my friends with a little black tape recorder and microphone I had, asking tough questions, one of my friends included @FrancedAmour who has a nice singing career now in Quebec and probably still remembers my hard knock approach.
At 15 I wrote a play about prostitution which received standing ovations and at 18 my original song compositions (Jeune Delinquant & Coeur en Convalescence in French were heard across Canada on the radio).
In my 30’s I appeared on Queer Television with Irshad Manji to talk about a story I wrote about AIDS called Always in Dark Silence.
When it comes to everything creative – I can’t get enough of it so now is the time for me to make it more than a hobby.
To all my haters who said, “Gail you are always focused on yourself” you were right and now I’m going to embrace it and cash in on it as well.
The Gail Young Show is coming to you soon bitches :))
Show me the money baby! More importantly show me the audience and the opportunity to make a dream come true.
I don’t have a date yet for the launch of the show but that isn’t really bad news, the fact is I just don’t want to create a show; I want to create a great show and honey child that takes lots of time to do especially part time.
I am doing research about getting some funding to develop my show. I’ve got some meetings lined up with folks I want to get involved with my show and I’m starting to write an outline of the segments I want to have on my show.
I’m looking to create a snazzy theme song, a stunning demo reel and while all that is going on, I’ve also managed to lose 21 lbs towards my goal of losing 60 lbs.
I am working hard, living life to the fullest, kicking ass and absolutely loving every minute of it :))
